SUPERANNUATION & RETIREMENT PLANNING

Superannuation is often the largest investment asset you will have to fund your retirement lifestyle.

It often should be, it is essentially a vehicle that holds your wealth in a very low to zero percent tax environment.

Most people only start thinking seriously about retirement late in their working life — but by then, key opportunities may already have passed. Getting the strategy right now can make a significant difference to your lifestyle later.

Ask yourself:

• Am I on track to reach your retirement goals?

• Do you know when you can afford to retire comfortably?

• Is your super invested in a way that supports the future you want?

• Do you have enough wealth that you can help your loved ones with their financial needs?

Is a self managed superannuation fund(SMSF) something that I should consider?

How I help:

• I calculate how much you’ll need to retire, and whether your assets are expected to last your lifetime

• I review super investments and align them with your goals

• Advise on transition to Retirement (TTR) strategies

• Set up retirement income streams when you do retire, to fund your lifestyle after your employment income stops

• Structure retirement income streams with pools of defensive assets, so when markets are volatile, you do not need to sell out of volatile growth assets

• Assess eligibility for Government Benefits (Age Pension, DVA, etc.)

• Provide specific contributions advice to reduce personal income tax, and grow wealth in low tax environment

Review the suitability for, and advise on where beneficial, self managed superannuation funds. This can include viability assessment of an investment property within a SMSF and how it may help towards your broader goals.
